The Challenge
A local news publisher needs to reach readers quickly across both web and mobile without running two disconnected teams or systems, while keeping day-to-day publishing simple for a small editorial team covering fast-moving local stories.
The Solution
We built a content-managed website paired with a native Android app that mirrors the same articles, videos, and categories, so the editorial team publishes once and reaches readers on both the web and their phones. The app surfaces Home, News, Programmes, and Info tabs alongside a dedicated Live button for live video coverage of local events.
A news feed built for quick scanning
The homepage leads with a live video thumbnail and a scannable list of the latest local stories, each timestamped so readers always know what's fresh.
Live coverage, one tap away
A dedicated LIVE button in the app puts real-time video coverage of local events — festivals, civic meetings, breaking news — within one tap, no searching required.
Organized by what matters
Home, News, Programmes, and Info tabs keep daily updates, longer-running segments, and reference content clearly separated, so regular readers always know where to look.
One newsroom, two platforms
The editorial team publishes once, and the same articles, videos, and categories appear on both the website and the Android app — no duplicate work.
